1 killed, 1 injured in Barry County crash

JOHNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — One person was killed and another was hospitalized after a crash Wednesday in Barry County.

It happened around 3:25 p.m. on Banfield Road between Baseline and Ferris roads in Johnstown Township, near Hastings.

Authorities said a vehicle going south crossed the center line, causing a collision with a northbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle was killed in the crash.

The other driver was taken to a Kalamazoo hospital to be treated for injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
